About Eva Johansson

Eva Johansson is one of the leading international dramatic sopranos of her generation. Her career covers three decades since her début as the Countess in the Marriage of Figaro at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen in 1983, and from then on Eva's career has taken her to all the great international opera stages, where she has worked with the greatest conductors and producers.

From Berlin to the Wiener Staatsoper, where E.J. as the only Danish soprano has sung the part of Brünnhilde in Wagner's Ring, the Metropolitan opera, the Paris opera, Covent Garden, Hamburg, Bayreuth, Munich, Zurich etc.

Eva Johansson has slowly developed from a lyrical, dramatic ”Mozart” soprano into a highly dramatic soprano, which has given her a widely-faceted and expressive voice with a great vocal energy, dramatic nerve and a strong scenic charisma.
